Objective: To map the scientific evidence on the main signs and symptoms in neonates with sepsis and which early detection strategies are used in the context of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Method: This is a scoping review, which will be conducted in accordance with the JBI methodology. The research will include five databases, covering studies published in any language and with a time limit between 2016 and the moment of the research. This review will consider all primary and secondary studies, gray literature and clinical guidelines that address the topic. Titles and abstracts will be selected by two independent reviewers for evaluation according to the inclusion criteria, followed by a full-text review and data extraction. Any disagreements will be discussed with a third reviewer. Data will be extracted using an extraction tool, developed by the reviewers and presented in a tabular format, accompanied by a narrative summary describing how the results relate to the purpose and question of the review. Results: We hope to identify the main signs and symptoms present and early detection strategies in neonatal sepsis. Conclusion: It is expected that the present study can contribute to the identification of relevant scientific evidence, which will make it possible to update the criteria for early recognition of signs and symptoms of newborns with sepsis, supporting the nursing team's performance for centralized, humanized and effective assistance. to this population. |
