Popis: The radio Engineering Faculty of Lviv Polytechnic National University is almost of the same age as the Electronics and Information Technology Faculty of Warsaw University of Technology. The name of Professor Janusz Groszkowski pioneer of radio engineering - has been written in a history of both universities. About one and half year period of his work in Lviv occurred in the beginning of the Second World War. Military operations broke Lviv Polytechnic University activity for a short time and this school started work in October 1939 as Lviv Polytechnic Institute. Professor Janusz Groszkowski organised the Radio Engineering Chair, based on the division of the same name existing in the Physics Chair. He initiated studies at the Telecommunication Department and introduced new curricula for communication and radio engineering specialities. The work of Professor Janusz Groszkowski - eminent scientist and authority, organiser in the field of scientific research and education is outlined.
