Popis: Genus Tubastraea Lesson, 1830 Diagnosis of genus Tubastraea (emended after Cairns 2001 and Cairns & Kitahara 2012) Colonial coralla firmly attached and encrusting; septa cycles hexamerally arranged and typically inserted with spongy columella; septa arranged /not arranged in a Pourtalès plan; corallum with a rough texture; colony developing from a common basal coenosteum by budding, with clear connection among polyps; columella small to moderate in size and lacks an epitheca.
