Based on a presentation at the XV Annual Conference of the Institute of Medical and Biological Illustration, Bath 1982, this paper sets out to explore broadly some of the problems associated with the preservation of images of all sorts, be they electronic, photographic or artists' impressions. It is intended that this might form an introduction to a series of more specific and authoritative articles concerned with archival permanence of images in various spheres and involving different media. |
