Popis: | This paper demonstrates the application of an approach to storage capacity estimation using a classification system that closely follows the Petroleum Resource Management System (PRMS) recommended by the Society of Petroleum Engineers. We apply the approach to an assessment of the storage capacity of a hypothetical, but representative storage site in the Surat Basin, onshore Australia. The assessment assumes the CO 2 is captured from sources in south Queensland and transported to the potential storage site. We estimate that the “Prospective Storage Capacity” is between zero and 560 million tonnes. |
