In this work, we studied the development of a new efficient magnetic catalyst, CuFe2O4/ ZIF-67, for treatment of toxic organic pollutants. The synthesis of catalyst is performed using immobilizing of CuFe2O4 on the surface of ZIF-67 by hydrothermal method. The chemical composition, morphologies and physicochemical properties of CuFe2O4/ ZIF-67 are characterized by different techniques. CuFe2O4/ ZIF-67 is applied for the catalytic degradation of tetracycline (TC), the reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and organic dyes such as methylene blue (MB), methyl orange (MO) and methyl red (MR) at room temperature. Using this catalyst, excellent degradation of TC and complete reduction of 4-NP, MB, MO and MR within ≤1 min at room temperature were achieved. The CuFe2O4/ ZIF-67 catalyst showed superior activity compared to the CuFe2O4 and ZIF-67 and surveyed its recyclability at the end of these processes.
