Popis: | Fifteen volunteers were exposed to short-term noise (30 min, 85 dB) in order to study its influence as a preanalytical factor on commonly analysed blood components, and serum cortisol. The concentrations of the analytes measured declined but the changes were mild. In the males the concentration of total protein decreased significantly, probably due to haemodilution. The results seem to contradict what is generally believed to be the effect of noise (increase in blood pressure, vasoconstriction), which presumably would lead to haemoconcentration. In routine collection of blood for laboratory investigations the effects of noise seem to be negligible. |
