Popis: "The history of the urbanistic evolution of Panjim [Panaji, Goa, India] during the 19th century is the history of the slow but inexorable abandonment, both practical and ideological, of the Marquis of Pombal’s plan to ressuscitate Old Goa. At the same time, however, it is the history of the recovery of the more modernising and pragmatic aspects of that plan: the 1776 plan for Panjim on which the development of the city that we still know today was based."
