Popis:	An acquired interventricular septal defect of the heart resulted from a nonpenetrating traumatic cardiac injury sustained by the driver in an automobile accident. The defect developed 10 days after the accident, when intractable cardiac failure began and continued until death, 28 days later. Clinical and pathologic observations are reported and correlated.
