Thermodynamic modeling of parameters for quasibinary eutectic LaB6−ZrB2

Popis: A consistent system is contructed for models of phase equilibria in the binary systems La−B, Zr−B, and La−Zr and the ternary system La−Zr−B. The models are used to calculate the liquidus curve for the quasibinary section of LaB6−ZrB6. Calculations are in good agreement with experimental data. The system of models developed makes it possible to predict the effect of alloying elements on the shape of the liquidus surface.
