Popis: Neurophysiology Technicians play a crucial role for the neurological diagnostic process through instrumental methods. Quite often, just a complete equipment and it’s correct use it is not sufficient to get liable results. Over an essential technical baggage, the “modern” Technicians should complete themselves with: Attention to details and clinical knowledge: watching patients in toto and pinpoint clinical signs. Flexibility: to be able to work with unusual equipment and adapt every technologies to the present clinical conditions and environmental situations. Deepened and complete technical skills, to take the correct strategy and methodological tricks for an “effectively” useful examination. Team-working spirit: with other Technician, Nurses, other Specialists and particularly with the referent Neurophysiologist. These surplus values are particularly important in non-usual situation, like the ICU registration and in the Intraoperatory Neurophysiology, but it is even true in the routinely ambulatory and hospital wards activity. The aim of this discussion is to demonstrate, presenting some practical examples, how technician’s behavior and attitude can drive the diagnosis, facilitating consultants in the diagnostic pathway. The modern profile of the Neurophysiology Technicians should be not just an exam executor, but an expert and complete specialist, completely integrated in the neurophysiological pathway.
