Popis: The laser photoacoustic trace gas detection is used to monitor the gas transport and the oxidation of methane in submerged rice plants. In general the gas transport in rice plants is well known but the internal diffusion barriers (e.g. root-shoot barrier) are not quantified. To study the diffusion characteristics SF6 is used as biological inert tracer gas. Besides, isotope labeled methane is used to monitor the transport of methane and the activity of methane oxidising bacteria in the rhizosphere around the roots
