Popis: | The emergence of juveniles from cysts of Heterodera ciceri, collected from the field, was investigated in root leachates of several annual plants and chemical solutions. More juveniles emerged from cysts in 3 mM zinc chloride (58.1%) and pea root leachate (27.3%) than in 0.6 mM sodium metavanadate (10.3%) and 0.3 mM picrolonic acid (9.5%). Egg hatch in the remaining hatching agents was only about 1%. In a second experiment, batches of new and old cysts of the same population of H. ciceri, reared on chickpea in a plastic-house, were incubated in leachates from chickpea, grasspea, lentil or pea, in 0.3 mM picrolonic acid, 0.6 mM sodium metavanadate, 3 mM zinc chloride or 3 mM zinc sulphate solutions, or in distilled water. More juveniles emerged from new cysts in pea root leachate (32.6%) than in the other hatching agents (8.9-21.4%). Egg hatch of old cysts was more in zinc chloride (36.3%), pea root leachate (33%), or sodium metavanadate (30.3%) than in other hatching agents. Hatch was less in chickpea (16.5%), grasspea (7.7%) and lentil (6.9%) root leachates. |
