Popis: | Summary A 43-year-old man admitted in intensive care of Valence hospital was found with a plasma (lithium-heparin BD Vacutainer®) level of cardiac troponin Ic at 16.76 ng/mL (Beckman Coulter, DxC600i/880i®, level of acute myocardial infarction = 0.5 mg/mL). To face the discord clinical picture and biological results: elevated level of troponin I, normal myoglobin and CK and absence of symptoms in favor of an ischaemic heart disease, a new blood sample was drawn on the same day (troponin Ic: 18.06 ng/mL). Further positive results were obtained on the next days (up to 37.58 ng/mL) without clinical symptom. Following the negative result of troponin T sent to another laboratory, blood specimens were adressed for expertise to Beckman Coulter. Results confirmed the presence of heterophilic antibodies at high concentration interfering with the troponin Ic. |
