Popis: A three dimensional heat transfer model is used for different reflectivities using finite difference equations to describe the heat flow. Previous work using mathematical models has had a twofold emphasis; further understanding of the physical processes involved in laser processing and as a predictive tool during laser processing. This work has concentrated on the predictive nature of this work and uses master plots to show the dimensionless relationship which exists between isotherm depths and process variables. The dimensionless nature of the plots means that they are independant of specific process parameter values.A three dimensional heat transfer model is used for different reflectivities using finite difference equations to describe the heat flow.
