Popis: The prostate and surrounding structures can be clearly depicted by computed tomography (CT). The Prostate is optimally evaluated by contiguous thin sections with the patient in the supine position. The upper extent of the gland lies at the inferior margin of the seminal vesicles while the most inferior border lies just above the bulb of the penis. The anterior, posterior, and lateral borders are delineated by the periprostatic fat. Neither the specific lobes nor zones of the prostate can be distinguished by CT.
