Popis: | India's performance in the field of maternal and child health has been poorer than expected. The latest National Family Health Survey-4 (NFHS-4) data shows that 30. 7% children under the age of 6 are stunted in the state of Maharashtra. This is more particularly so in backward regions with high tribal population. One of the drawbacks of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) and National Rural Health Mission(NRHM) has been the quality and frequency of the training given to the Anganwadi Worker (AWW), ASHA workers and their supervisors. This paper talks about an incentive based innovative approach for training of all the (health) field workers through mobile based videos using information and communication technologies (ICT). A small-scale pilot was conducted to test the feasibility and acceptability of such ICT based approach. |
