New refractories for closing iron notches and ramming troughs

Popis: | The nonaqueous trough refractories used previously had the following composition: crushed coke 34-36%; powdered fireclay 20-24%; ground refractory clay 12-16%; pitch 4-5%; prepared coal tar 23-25%. After the use of this refractory for some period of time, the fireclay (which costs 20 rubles/ton) and coke fines (costing about 35 rubles/ton) were partially replaced by molding sand (1.4 rubles/ton). The sand, supplied by the NizhneUvel'sk quarry of the Chelyabinsk Mining Administration, conforms to the requirements of GOST 2178-56.
