This chapter takes into consideration the effects of radical changes in the context of mergers and acquisitions in the UAE’s banking industry and relates the findings to the existing literature, drawing on previous cases discussed in western studies. The analysis focuses on employees’ psychology after mergers, their attachment to organizational culture and their work productivity. The chapter draws on the analysis of the merger of the UAE’s two largest banks, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and First Gulf Bank. |
