The modification of antitumor antibiotic daunomicin by selenium nanoparticles and polyvinylpyrrolidone

Popis: In order to create water-soluble non-toxic derivatives of the antitumor antibiotic daunomycin, two methods for the synthesis of organo-inorganic complexes based on daunomycin, polyvinylpyrrolidone, and selenium nanoparticles have been developed. The first method consisted of the preliminary stabilization of selenium nanoparticles with polyvinylpyrrolidone, followed by the addition of daunomycin. The second method was implemented by the preliminary formation of a complex between daunomycin and polyvinylpyrrolidone followed by the reaction of selenium reduction. The methods of optical spectroscopy, dynamic and static light scattering showed the possibility of changing the internal structural organization and size of the complexes.
