Popis: | The authors suggested several mechanisms for the formation of a boundary disturbance, but the question of which of them actually occurs remained unsolved. This phenomenon is explained on the basis of experiments and the picture of the gasdynamic flow generated is discussed. A diagram shows the shock wave propagated in a tube filled with xenon at standard density. It was concluded that experiments must be continued for a more detailed explanation of the influence of the wall properties on the development of a boundary disturbance of an intensly radiating shock wave. It is expected that a decrease in the effect of the screening of the emission of such a shock wave is possible at certain angles to its surface, which may lead to the emergence of strong ultraviolet radiation in these directions. |
