Popis: Firm performance and growth are prominent research topics with regard to women's entrepreneurship. This chapter focuses on women-leadership in general, and performance differences between men- and women-led enterprises. It explains the data collection and methodological approach. The chapter presents the findings related to structural characteristics of women-led enterprises (in Germany), their entrepreneurial aims, and strategies as well as the attitudes of their managers. The data comprises information about the total size of a firms' executive board and the total number of women working as business executives. The data also provides detailed information on firm objectives, strategies and attitudes of managing directors. The chapter summarizes the regression results regarding the effect of female leadership on the importance for each entrepreneurial aim and the impact of the affiliation to the German Mittelstand and the group of family businesses.
