Energy Characteristics of a Compact Waveguide-Slot Irradiator of a Dielectric Medium in the Microwave Range

Popis: The energy characteristics of a waveguide-slot irradiator of dielectric materials made on the basis of waveguides with a standard cross-section of 23x10mm and a cross-section of 23x5mm, with a slot cut in the end wall, are studied. To matching the system irradiating the dielectric medium, a dielectric insert inside the waveguide with a certain length and a certain permittivity is used. A comparison of the calculated energy characteristics of such irradiators for various variants of the values of the dielectric permittivity of the materials of the irradiated medium and the insertion inside the waveguide is made. It is shown that for effective irradiation of dielectrics with a large value of the permittivity of the external environment, it is preferable to use a compact slit irradiator based on a 23x5mm waveguide than on the basis of a standard waveguide.
