On water greener synthesis of pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines using Ag-TiO2 nanocomposite catalyst under sonication

Popis: | The present work explores ultrasound-assisted efficient synthesis of pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines via multicomponent reaction of Meldrum’s acid, aromatic aldehydes and 6-amino-1,3-dimethyluracil in presence of Ag-TiO2 nanocomposites (NCs) as a green heterogeneous catalyst in aqueous media. The synthesis of green Ag-TiO2 NCs was carried out under sonication using Origanum majorana aqueous leaf extract. The prepared Ag-TiO2 NCs characterized by UV–Vis, FT-IR, XRD, SEM, TEM and EDS analysis. The heterogeneous nanocomposite shows a very good catalytic efficiency towards the synthesis of pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines fused heterocyclic framework via generation of two new C–C and one C–N bonds in single step with excellent yields of targets in shorter reaction time and easy approach. Furthermore, the prepared green heterogeneous catalyst can be recycled and recovered four times without significant loss in the catalytic activity. |
