Popis: | This paper describes the development of an analytical approach by which methods for the evaluation of the performance of transfer lines with finite inventory banks can be adapted and applied to determine the performance of assembly systems such as are used in the automobile industry. The approach enables such real features as multi-station stages, unequal stage cycle times, finite bank transit times and non-serial work flow to be included. The approach is demonstrated by comparison with a simulation model of an actual automobile assembly system. |
