Evaluation and Comparison of Two Total Protein Reagents

Popis:	Sigma Diagnostics total protein reagent was evaluated in the authors' laboratory as an alternative to Abbott A-Gent total protein reagent, for use on the ABA-100 chemistry analyzer. The Sigma reagent at least equalled the performance of the Abbott reagent for precision, accuracy, and recovery. A high degree of correlation (r = .942) was found between the results obtained using the two reagents. The Sigma reagent offered significantly longer stability and lower cost.
