Popis: A new Eulerian method, "Wave Confinement", is presented for propagating short acoustic signals over long distances through realistic environments, without numerically induced spreading. Effects due to atmospheric and ground variations are automatically captured, enabling more accurate acoustic predictions on modest computational grids. Terrain effects are captured using an immersed boundary technique that avoids any need to fit meshes to complex topography, which is especially important in real (3-D) cases.
