Popis: | In this work, nanoparticles of Co0.5Ni0.5CrxFe2-xO4 (x = 0.0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0) were successfully synthesized via the co-precipitation method. Their structural and magnetic properties were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Vibrating Sample Magnetometery (VSM) techniques. XRD technique showed that the average crystallite sizes of the samples were in the range ∼18–27 nm. SEM showed uniform particle size of nanoparticles. Saturation Magnetization (Ms) decreased from 60.94 to 49.37 emu/gr as a function of Cr content for x = 0.0, 0.25, 0.5 and then increased from 52.88 to 60.80 emu/g for x = 0.75, 1.0. The values of the coercivity (HC) decreased from 542.63 to 113.99 Oe with x = 0.0, 0.25, 0.5 and then increased from 190.42 to 232.55 Oe for x = 0.75, 1.0. Low-cytotoxicity effects of Co0.5Ni0.5CrxFe2-xO4 (x = 0.25) nanoparticles at high concentrations on colon (HT-29) cancer cell lines were confirmed by the 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. |
