Popis: Curvipennis wixiensis is a rare species of terrestrial grasshopper with limited distribution in a few untraversed mesophorbium regions of the northwest Yunnan Province. This species has specific morphological characteristics, and the local complex ecological environment is considered to play an important role in the evolution of the species. Characterization of the sources of C. wixiensis is useful for local biodiversity conservation and ecological preservation. In this study, we determined the complete mitochondrial DNA genome of C. wixiensis. This circular genome (15,528 bp in length) contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 2 rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes and one control region. All PCGs in C. wixiensis are distributed on the H-strand, except for the ND6 gene and eight tRNA genes, which are encoded on the L-strand. We expect that the complete mitochondrial DNA genome of C. wixiensis will provide valuable molecular data for species identification, conservation genetics research and evolutionary studies.
