Popis: | Two alternative production flowcharts for the fabrication of cylindrical shells from titanium alloys in the superplasticity (SP) state, namely, the formation of the sheet into a rectangular matrix and the free formation of a package consisting of two sheets welded along a rectangular contour by diffusion welding, are considered. It is stated by comparative analysis that, for the free formation of the package of sheet billets, the damage parameter and process duration are smaller by a factor of almost 3 when compared with a standard flowchart for the formation into a rectangular matrix, while the characteristic pressures of the forming gas remain approximately the same. It is concluded that it is possible to use the free formation of rectangular packages when fabricating cylindrical articles from materials with low plasticity characteristics. |
