Separation of σ1 and σt at q2 ∼ 1 (GeV/c)2 in the resonance region

Popis: We report on some new values of R = σ 1 / σ t taken in the resonance region from inelastic ep scattering at DESY. Cross sections were measured at θ = 57° and θ = 15° to 17° at q 2 = 1 GeV 2 . R was calculated at masses 1495 ⩽ 1 W ⩽ 1715 MeV. It was found that the contribution of σ 1 to the total cross section is small, below 20%. The errors are less than ΔR = 16%.
