Popis: | The design, calibration and performance of a deuteron polarimeter for polarization transfer experiments in deuteron elastic scattering is presented. The polarimeter is based on the 3He(d, p)4He reaction and employs an extended high pressure gas cell with vane collimation. It has been calibrated for incoming deuterons in an energy range between 10 and 16 MeV. The polarimeter is currently being used to determine polarization transfer coefficients for 90Zr(d, d) elastic scattering at Ed = 15 MeV. |
