Popis:	SummaryNinety-seven trees of 25 seedling varieties of apple, propagated on Malus sikkimensis seedling rootstocks, were inoculated by bud-grafting from a tree of Emneth Early showing symptoms of bitter pit. A further 97 trees were kept as uninoculated controls. The incidence of bitter pit in the two groups of trees was 67% and 68% respectively, from which it is concluded that bitter pit is very unlikely to be a virus disease.
