Popis: This research presents the study of the relationship between sensor response and the odor perception in human in order to standardize the odor measurement. For an everyday life odorant that caused strong odors to human, eight samples were chosen to test by using ammonia and hydrogen sulfide sensor to compare with the questionnaire of how thirty subjects response in annoyance and perceived odor strength. The result shows that both of the strongest odorants of sensor response and human's perceived odor in strength were ethanol, ammonia, and nail polish remover, respectively. There was a consistent relationship between the sensor response and the human's odor perception in odor strength, not including to the annoyance due to the complexity of individual sensory odor. The odorants that human can be perceived as the strong odors, the measured odor strength was high as well when sensory factors and individual's bias are not taken into account.
