Popis: diseases3. However, until recent time little attention has been granted to the dosimetry ofILIB: recommended total light power after fiber tip varies from 0.2 to 10 and even 25mW bydifferent investigators, procedure time varies from 1 5 to 45 minutes. Therefore, range ofdoses, providing therapeutic effect, is extremei wide (from 0.2 to 60 J). Besides, there are anumber of difficulties, related to the practical applications of ILIB:• contact of fiber tip with blood;• danger of vessel wall trauma by fiber tip;• hazard of fiber break into the vessel;• relatively high cost of single-use optical fibers.• much more complicated problems arise, when ILIB is applied in pediatric practice becauseof enumerated above difficulties are aggravated by unfavorable influence of procedureexecution method on the psychology of ill child. For the first time many authors4 tried to irradiate blood using optical fiber contactingwith skin surface in the area of projection of vessel. However, efficiency of irradiation is ratherlow because of from 30 up to 40 per cents of energy is diffuse reflected from skin surface1.
