Popis: In this work the modern instrumentation for cancer diagnosis using laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy is exposed as well as physical and biological aspects related to this technique. The development of this relatively new method is analyzed, focusing on current trends for discriminating neoplastic from healthy tissues by autofluorescence spectroscopy (without exogenously administered photosensitizers). Finally we propose an experimental set‐up for carrying out fluorescence studies of human ex‐vivo tissues. 1 Corresponding author. E‐mail address: jose.alberto@ceaden.edu.cu
