Popis: | Ascaris lumbricoides is the largest parasite which can infest its two hosts, man and pig. The species specificity of these worms is absolute; Ascaris from hogs cannot grow to adults in man, nor can human Ascaris survive in pigs, although morphologically they are indistinguishable. It is estimated that one quarter of the world’s population is infested with human Ascaris; infestation of hogs is far more extensive. |
