We have already started this review in 2012. We did not have a published protocol available at that time. However, already then, we followed very closely the methods of the related Cochrane review “amitriptyline for depression” (Leucht et al. 2012) with a few a priori defined decisions, and we had decided from the start that we would not restrict the review to major depressive disorder defined by operationalized diagnostic criteria and that we would analyze fewer outcomes. This protocol also serves to document our methodology more in detail than in a journal publication. |
