Popis: Currently human power in developed countries has grown to such an extent that the exploitation of natural resources and use of fossil fuels are having a devastating impact on the ecosystem and its ability to support the human life form. Over the next few decades, deprived communities are likely to suffer most with the lack of food, clean air and water. Eventually the extreme weather conditions and changed climate will affect all on the planet. The closed ecosystem means that everything is affected by anthropogenic activity. The paper offers a review of our activities, the exploitation of natural resource and the environmental and social impact. Discussion centres around those with the economic, political and community power to influence change and where the lack of responsibility and social cohesion are preventing the change to a culture of social sustainability.
