Popis: | The conductivity of nickel ferrous ferrite shows a transition as a function of applied pressure around 30 kbar. A Mott “ T - 1 4 ” law is obeyed on both sides of the transition so that an explanation in terms of a metal-insulator transition cannot be sustained. It is shown that the results are consistent with the occurrence of a transition of iron ions from a high-spin state to a low-spin state as the pressure increases. |
