Popis: Imaging modalities such as F-18 FDG PET/CT and PET/MRI have become important diagnostic tools in the evaluation, diagnosis, staging, and restaging of soft tissue sarcoma and melanoma. With the use of F-18 fluorodeoxy-glucose (“FDG”), which is a radioactive analog to glucose, these modalities can provide information about the metabolic function of an organ system, or of tissues within a specific region of interest. In order to get the most unaltered metabolic status, several guidelines have been developed by societies, such as EANM and SNMMI, which aim to help obtain optimal functionality and clarity of F-18 FDG PET/CT and PET/MR images.
