Popis:	This paper examines the concept of reflective practice in nursing. It highlights the origin of nursing as it originates from the apprenticeship system in the twentieth century. Following the Second World War, nursing was introduced into higher education and thus the need to fuse practical with theoretical knowledge. It also examines sources of nursing knowledge that is reflected upon. It then examines the difficulties of practicing reflective practice in Nigeria at this point in time. Finally recommendations are made regarding the steps that need to be taken to introduce reflective practice in the nursing curriculum in Nigeria.
