In this work an isolation improvement technique has been proposed for a planar MIMO antenna using a modified T shaped stub in the defected ground operating in 4.99GHz to 6.03GHz covering entire sub 6GHz upper 5G and upper WLAN band. It consists of two symmetrical etched rectangular patch fed with 50 Ohm microstrip line. The largest dimension of each radiator is 18.1mm≈0.301λo. The overall size is 40×26mm2. In spite of low space diversity having edge to edge gap of only 0.4mm≈0.0066λo, Port isolation of (>17.5dB) has been achieved in the entire operating band. Here the MIMO antenna with stub in ground is compared with without stub. The former shows better diversity performance in non-uniform propagating medium with envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) 9.9995dB, channel capacity loss (CCL) |
