Popis:	Osteomalacia is a descriptive term and diagnosis of diminished bone mineralization that can occur in both adults and children. Rickets, which only occurs in children, refers to a process at the growth plates. It cannot occur in adults as their growth plates have already closed. In children, osteomalacia is often accompanied by rickets.
