Popis: Cecil Day-Lewis, poet, novelist, translator, critic and broadcaster was a key literary figure who came to prominence in the 1930s alongside Louis MacNeice, Stephen Spender and W. H. Auden and whose successful career led him to be appointed Poet Laureate in 1968. As Nicholas Blake, he is best known for the amateur investigator Nigel Strangeways, who features in sixteen of the twenty detective novels Day-Lewis wrote under this pseudonym.
