Popis: | We report on the electronic and magnetic phase diagram for ${(R}_{1.5\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{Pr}}_{x}{\mathrm{Ce}}_{0.5}){\mathrm{Sr}}_{2}{\mathrm{Cu}}_{2}{\mathrm{NbO}}_{10\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{\ensuremath{\delta}}}$ $(R=\mathrm{N}\mathrm{d},\mathrm{S}\mathrm{m},\mathrm{E}\mathrm{u}).$ The results indicate that Pr suppresses superconductivity in these materials in the same manner as in the ${(R}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{Pr}}_{x}){\mathrm{Ba}}_{2}{\mathrm{Cu}}_{3}{\mathrm{O}}_{7}$ compounds and that this suppression is correlated with anomalous Pr magnetism, a reduced Pr effective moment, a metal-to-insulator transition, and an ion size effect. The significance of these results in terms of a generalization of this phenomenon, the criteria they establish for modeling these materials, and the role of $f$-electron hybridization is discussed. |
