The way globalization is present in our lives today provides an array of opportunities and requires individuals to acquire new knowledge and skills in order to become active and responsible citizens in their societies and in the world. This study suggests that Brazilian students demonstrate that they are using information and communication technologies (ICT) in socially valued ways to be informed about what is happening in the world, to communicate with people all over the world and to promote social justice and inclusion. These Brazilian students, and future leaders, appear to be using ICT in order to face the challenges offered by the globalized world, possessing the appropriate knowledge and skills to be global citizens.
