Process-based management in tourism

Popis: This chapter looks at process thinking in travel and tourism. It first considers what is meant by a business process, the process-based management (PBM) and the act of business process re-engineering (BPR). It then describes management movements that led to the breakthrough in the early 1990s in BPR and other developments since then. The influence of tourism futurecast on the drive towards PBM is covered, as well as the role of PBM in tourism marketing. Examples of BPR in tourism are presented.
