The paper is devoted to a significant event in the development of international scientific relations - the visit of a representative delegation of the USSR Academy of Sciences to the US scientific and technological centers in 1972. This visit served as the beginning of bilateral cooperation in a number of topical scientific areas. The level of development of computer technology in the United States aroused particular interest of Soviet scientists. After the trip, members of the delegation, academician G.I. Marchuk and representative of the Central Committee of the CPSU I.M. Makarov presented a detailed analytical report on this problem. The document is of interest from the point of view of comparing the levels of development of American and Soviet computer technology, conclusions of scientists about the need to develop priority areas in this field in the USSR. |
