Resumo: A caprinocultura apresenta importante papel economico-social para a regiao Nordeste, por suprir as populacoes de baixa renda de proteina de valor biologico. A regiao possui o maior rebanho caprino do Brasil, resultante da adaptacao destes animais as condicoes climaticas locais. As diferentes respostas do animal as peculiaridades de cada regiao sao determinantes no sucesso da atividade pela adequacao do sistema produtivo as caracteristicas do ambiente e ao potencial produtivo dos animais. Nesta revisao serao abordados alguns aspectos fisiologicos e bioclimaticos da caprinocultura nas condicoes semiaridas. [Physiological and bioclimatic aspects of goats in semi-arid regions]. Abstract: The goat provides important economic and social role in the Northeast, by supplying the low-income populations of protein biological value. The region has the largest goat herd in Brazil, resulting from the adaptation of these animals to local climatic conditions. The different responses of the animal to the peculiarities of each region are key to the success of the activity by adapting the production system to the characteristics of the environment and the productive potential of animals. In this review we discuss some aspects of the physiological and bioclimatic the goat farming in semi-arid conditions. |
